Empatica and PKG Health partner to offer digital endpoints for tremor and movement disorders in clinical trials

Boston, MA -- Empatica, a pioneer in digital biomarker development and patient monitoring driven by wearables and AI, today announced a significant addition to its Platform portfolio of digital measures thanks to a new partnership with PKG Health, one of the leaders in movement disorder algorithms and digital endpoints.

This partnership marks a pivotal step in advancing clinical trials in neurology, particularly in Parkinson’s disease, by combining Empatica’s medical-grade wearable technology and software platform with the entirety of PKG Health's robust algorithm offerings featured in over 90 published studies and currently in use in clinical care in 20+ countries. The PKG algorithms provide a set of precise, evidence-based measures that can capture and process objective measurements in patients with movement disorders, covering bradykinesia, dyskinesia, daytime mobility, sleep, tremors, gait, and more.

All of PKG’s digital measures, 36 in total, are now available to clinical trial sponsors within the FDA-cleared Empatica Health Monitoring Platform, and measured by EmbracePlus, Empatica’s modular, accurate wearable. These measures represent the longest-standing, most validated evidence in Parkinson’s and other movement-related disorders and are supported by FDA clearance, MDR, and regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions worldwide.

PKG is joining McRoberts and Mobilise-d as a partner in Empatica’s algorithm integrations initiative which launched earlier this year, propelling Empatica’s overall digital measures offering to over 300, the largest in clinical research. Alongside capabilities such as Cloud API integrations, Empatica allows sponsors and CROs to use the best technology and digital endpoints available in the market together, under a single, FDA-cleared solution, simplifying clinical trial management while augmenting data collection.
