Alert App: New Features to Improve the Quality of the Embrace Experience
We hope you’re enjoying the sunny season and getting your fair share of sand between your toes, backyard barbeques, and spending time with your close ones :)
Because the summer vibe is not about fuss or complication, we’ve been working on some new features to improve your Embrace experience.
These new features were designed with the help of our new Early Access Program community, where Embrace users can try out pre-release features and share suggestions.
Our second round of feedback has officially ended, and we’re grateful for the insight we received from our early adopters on the upcoming Alert features.
They even suggested a few new ideas that we’re currently busy building!
Caregiver Alert Confirmation
The Early Access Program community reviewed a new feature called Caregiver Alert Confirmation, which allows Caregivers to confirm an alert call by pressing “1”.
This important improvement verifies that your Caregiver (and not an answering machine) has received the alert, providing greater assurance. They also heard our new alert voice, and experienced our latest improvement in SMS delivery time.
Some Useful Statistics we Gathered from the Testing
The results from the first two phases of the Early Access Program were so successful that the new features will soon be rolled out to the whole Embrace community in Alert 3.6.0!
The feedback we received had a direct impact on the functionality of the app
The first Early Access group suggested that Caregivers confirm the alert, and the second suggested that the Embracer receives a notification that the Caregiver confirmed, therefore closing the loop and adding reassurance.
Version 3.6.0 will roll out the first part of this, and the following version will add the notifications.
The Quality of the Alert Call
Two additional improvements you’ve asked for are being rolled out with Alert 3.6.0. The quality of the alert call has also been improved.
There will now be a different voice and a crisper and clearer sound, making it easier for Caregivers to understand the message.
In addition, the phone number from which we make the alert calls to your Caregivers will now remain stable, so that they can save it as a contact, and know right away it’s an alert call.
Finally, the texts will all arrive from “Empatica”, again making things clearer for your Caregivers.
The Design of the “More” Tab
Last but not least, we’ve improved the design and structure of the “More” tab making it easier to navigate.
You’ll also find in the “Settings” page a simple explanation of how Embrace syncs your data first with the app and then with our cloud. The titles of each step in the data syncing process have been renamed so that they are easier to understand.
All of these improvements will be rolled out starting with the release of Alert app 3.6.0, so stay tuned for a notification in the app to update.
The rollout will be gradual over the next several weeks, starting with the Early Access community that helped us with the advancements, and continuing to include our whole Embrace community as good feedback comes in.
We are very proud of the great work behind our latest progress as the upcoming features will further improve the user experience for all Embracers and caregivers!
Big hugs
Empatica Team
